I am writing to encourage all of you to re-elect Sen. John L. Tuttle, candidate for Maine State Senate District 33.

All the candidates tell us that they support growth in jobs, but many do not understand how or what is involved in the economy of Maine. Maine has a strong tradition of hunting, an industry that generates both jobs and revenue for our state. A 2004 economic study showed that bear hunting contributed more than $60 million to the Maine economy and supports more than 900 jobs. Tuttle is a supporter of traditional Maine recreational businesses and supports saving Maine’s bear hunt and management programs. He has always been there to help guide the Legislature with sensible support of the industry.

I have known John for more than 40 years as he has dedicated a life of service for the betterment of our state. He is an expert in public policy and finance. He understands the challenges of running small businesses in Maine.

John holds strong family values and a view of topics that mirrors the majority of the constituents in our state. As a state senator, he will continue to represent the people of Maine honorably and ensure that our voices are heard in Augusta.

Sen. Tuttle is a leader with a common-sense approach and the drive to make a difference in the future of Maine.
