WATERVILLE — The 19th annual Maine State Catholic Charismatic Renewal Conference is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 18, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 72 Pleasant St. A day of prayer, praise, talks and healing is planned.

Featured speakers include Fr. Ron Labarre and Trudy Jones. “Hope: He is Here” and “Joy: He Loves You as You Are” will be presented by Fr. Labarre. Jones will discuss “The Three Areas of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit.”

A healing service will be led by the Very Rev. Richard P. Rice, Liaison to the Catholic Charismatic Renewal Service Committee, Portland Diocese, and former pastor in Sanford, Bath and other areas. Fr. Rice will also preside at the closing Mass.

Fr. Labarre, a Biddeford native, is a retired diocesan priest now serving in Good Shepherd Parish of Biddeford/Saco, and as needed throughout the state. He also ministers to individuals at private retreats.

An active lay member of the Portland diocese, a leader for renewal processes at St. Mary’s, Westbrook and a professed member of the Secular Franciscan Order, Jones and her husband co-own and operate The Abbey Catholic Gift & Book Shop in Scarborough.

Music for the day will be provided by Spirit Song, led by David Goolsby, director of the Greater Lincoln Community Choir. All are welcome to attend the conference.
