As a trustee of Falmouth Memorial Library, I am in favor of the library expansion. Being an architect with an interest in giving back to this great community, I joined the board of trustees last September.

The design for the expansion represents countless hours of collaboration between design professionals and many stakeholders of the library. The new library will be 6,000 square feet larger and yet the operation cost will actually decrease from the current operational cost. This is possible through natural daylighting, passive heating, and window placement for optimal cross-ventilation. The new library’s sun-filled spaces will be flexible for future needs and open for increased sight lines by the staff. These are just a few of the features of the new library. I encourage the residents of Falmouth to vote yes on the library referendum on Nov. 4.
