LUMBERBRIDGE, N.C. — Roger A. Kingsbury, 69, of Lumberbridge, N.C., died Oct. 8, 2014, after a long illness. He was born in Bath, Maine, the son of Robert E. Kingsbury Sr. and Rose V. Higgins.

Roger attended schools in Bath, and graduated from Morse High School in 1963. He was a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army.

Roger married Shirley Gore in 1994 and they lived in Wiscasset for several years, before moving to North Carolina. Together they enjoyed traveling and spending winters in Florida. Roger enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Roger was a union boilermaker, traveling all over the U.S., retiring in 1998, due to failing health.

He was predeceased by his wife, both parents, three brothers, Robert E. Kingsbury Jr., Eugene and Bruce Kingsbury, a sister Thelma V. Brittell, and a nephew, Gary A. Savage. He is survived by a daughter, Lisa Palmer and two grandchildren of North Carolina, a brother, Richard C. Kingsbury of Arrowsic, two sisters, Elaine M. Ricker of Bath, and Sylvia C. Fuller and husband Dennis of Woolwich, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews.

Interment followed a graveside service held at Old Hillside Cemetery in Laurinberg, N.C., on Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014.
