The two candidates for the Brunswick District 5 School Board seat are similar philosophically, but Jim Grant’s experience makes him more qualified.

Grant has held leadership positions on the local board and is the first Brunswick member on the Maine School Board Association. He is nominated for an officer’s position with MSBA next year and a seat on the National School Board Association. Locally, his experience on two building projects is a valuable asset as Brunswick addresses the facilities needs of the district.

At a candidates’ forum, the person seeking to unseat grant stated that he finds evening meetings difficult to attend. School Board meetings are evening meetings, sometimes several a week.

District 5 voters, don’t give up our voice in Augusta. Re-elect Jim Grant. Why unseat the most qualified candidate only to be left looking at an empty space at board meetings?
