Independent Eliot Cutler has urged Mainers to “vote their conscience” in the upcoming gubernatorial election.
Yet your paper reported last week that Mr. Cutler’s campaign has accepted a $50,000 donation from a right-wing Republican couple in Kansas who have consistently donated to tea party candidates, including one in Missouri who is strongly opposed to gay rights (“Wealthy Kansas Republican couple give $50,000 to pro-Cutler PAC,” Oct. 24).
What is going on here? And where is Eliot Cutler’s conscience?
