Former state legislator William Diamond won the race for Maine Senate District 26.

Diamond, 69, a Democrat, got 63 percent of the vote. He is a business owner and former state legislator from Windham.

Republican Kaile R. Warren, 55, got 37 percent of the vote. Warren is an executive of a construction business from Windham.

The district includes Windham, Raymond, Standish, Baldwin, Casco and Frye Island.
