Several fire departments from the lower Kennebec County region responded to a blaze that damaged a house on Libby Hill Road in Gardiner, reportedly re-igniting after crews cleared the scene.
Fire departments from Gardiner, Augusta, Farmingdale, Pittston and Randolph were dispatched early Sunday afternoon to a report of a structure fire on Libby Hill Road in Gardiner, according to scanner traffic. No injuries were reported when firefighters had contained the fire by around 2 p.m. The fire reportedly started again in the attic of the house sometime later in the afternoon, according to scanner traffic, but it appeared to be out by 7 p.m., although crews were still on the scene.
The two-story house at 239 Libby Hill Road in Gardiner is owned by Melanie R. Scott, according to city assessing records.
