Nov. 11 is Veterans Day. It is a holiday to honor those who have served in our U.S. armed forces.
It was originally celebrated as Armistice Day, to commemorate the end of World War I at the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918. It is also a time to remember that the freedoms we enjoy today come at a price, paid for with the blood, sweat and tears of those who have served our country.
We must never forget their sacrifices, nor tarnish their memory by abandoning the causes that they so proudly served unselfishly.
