Heads up. Sad news. There are limits to American power and resources. As much as some would have you believe differently, this is the reality, no matter where and what the crisis is.

American taxpayers – but not some big corporations – are being bled for imagined threats to American “interests.” Our allies seem not to be so concerned about real threats on their doorsteps.

They’re not sending their bombers and missiles as readily as we are. And those weapon systems have big costs. Maybe they’re saving their euros for job training and infrastructure repairs. Does “guns or butter” ring a bell?

The U.S. has invested a lot of blood and treasure. Let’s have a day of quiet reflection on how best to use our limited resources for peace and justice.
