Two men were arrested after separate incidents of domestic violence in Unity over the weekend, police said.

In the first incident, reported Friday at 9:40 p.m., sheriff’s deputies charged Mark Lessard, 45, of Unity, with attacking his stepson and the child’s mother.

Lessard allegedly became involved in an argument with the stepson and then pushed him out the door of the home, and then assaulted the child’s mother, who is his girlfriend, by putting her in a headlock, the release said.

Lessard will face two counts of Class D domestic assault, and was also charged with two counts of failure to appear in court. He is free on $1,150 cash bail.

In the second case, Christopher Giggey, 37, of Unity, was charged with assaulting his girlfriend, according to a press release from the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office.

That incident occurred Sunday at about 4:20 p.m. when, deputies said, Giggey became upset with his girlfriend and hit her with a computer, breaking it. Strangulation was also “an element of the assault,” the release said.

Giggley was charged with Class B aggravated domestic assault, Class D domestic assault and criminal mischief. No bail was allowed pending an appearance before a judge.
