A Farmington man was arrested Sunday after police say he threw a table at a teenager driving down his road.
Charles Hubbard, 57, was arrested on charges of assault and terrorizing and issued a summons to appear in court to answer a criminal mischief complaint following the incident, said Farmington police secretary Rachel Heseltine. Hubbard allegedly told police that he threw the table because he was upset by the sound of the exhaust on the teenager’s vehicle.
At around 2:25 p.m., a 16-year-old Chesterville boy was driving down Webster Road in Farmington when a man, later identified as Hubbard, allegedly threw a table into the road at his car.
She said the teenager’s vehicle was damaged, resulting in the charge of criminal mischief.
The teenager, who was not previously familiar with Hubbard, stopped his car and got out. At that time, Hubbard is alleged to have punched him in the face and made threats against him, said Heseltine.
The teenager drove away and reported the incident to the Farmington police. Officer Derek Doucette arrested Hubbard on the charges, which are all class D misdemeanors and punishable by up to a year in jail and a $2,000 fine.
