Firefighters respond to the scene of a blaze near the Play It Again Sports outlet on Route 111 in Biddeford on Wednesday, as flames engulf a load that was dropped from the back of a Blow Bros. Waste Industries truck. Biddeford Deputy Fire Chief Scott Gagne said the truck’s operator noticed smoke coming from the back of the truck at about 9 a.m., and dumped most of the trash he was carrying, though about 1/3 of it remained in the back of the vehicle. Firefighters doused the flaming trash pile; Gagne said no people or vehicles were harmed during the incident.
