NEW BRITAIN, Conn. — The University of Maine outscored Central Connecticut State 48-22 in the second half on its way to a 72-58 victory over the Blue Devils Wednesday night.

Liz Wood led the Black Bears in scoring, rebounds and assists. She finished with 23 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Sigi Koizar added 21 points, and Sophie Weckstrom hit five 3-pointers, all in the second half, for her 15 points.

Maine, which won its third straight, trailed by as many as 17 points in the first half. The Blue Devils went on a 19-5 run to take their largest lead, 34-17, with 3:40 left in the opening half.

Maine opened the second half with a 16-0 run to grab a 40-36 lead after four minutes. The Blue Devils stopped the runs with a 3-pointer at 14:28, but Maine went on another 9-0 tear for 49-39 lead and held the advantage the rest of the way.

Both teams are 4-3.

COLBY 65, ST. JOSEPH’S 53: Carylanne Wolfington scored 21 points to lead undefeated Colby (7-0) over St. Joseph’s (5-2) at Standish.

Mia Diplock added 13 for Colby and Kate Parsons scored 12.

Morgan Cahill of the Monks had a game-high 22 points.

BATES 80, UM-AUGUSTA 66: Allie Coppola scored 22 points and had 15 rebounds as the Bobcats (6-3) held off UMaine-Augusta (6-4) at Lewiston.

Molly Brown added 20 points for the winners.

UNE 70, EASTERN NAZARENE 60: The University of New England (4-1, 1-0 CCC) started the second half with an 11-0 run on its way to a win over Eastern Nazarene (0-6, 0-1) at Biddeford.

Junior Alanna Vose scored 13 of her team-high 17 points in the second half to help the Nor’easters pull away. Senior Kelly Coleman added 15 points, 11 in the second half. Sophomore Alicia Brown contributed 11 points and Meghan Gribbin scored 10.

The Lions were led by Mhiah Vickers with 27 points.

(2) NOTRE DAME 92, (15) MARYLAND 72: Jewell Loyd had 27 points, eight rebounds and six assists as the Irish (8-0) quickly jumped to a 24-point lead and cruised over the Terrapins (6-2) in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

(5) TEXAS A&M 74, NORTHWESTERN 42: Jordan Jones led the Aggies (8-0) with 15 points and 10 assists in their win over the visiting Lady Demons (4-2).

(10) CALIFORNIA 107, SACRAMENTO STATE 94: Brittany Boyd recorded her third triple-double with 19 rebounds, 16 assists and 11 points as the Bears (7-0) beat the visiting Hornets (1-5).

(11) BAYLOR 96, PAN AMERICAN 42: Nina Davis hit 13 of 15 shots and scored 23 of her 31 points in the first half as the Bears (5-1) routed the Broncos (6-4) at Waco, Texas.

(12) NEBRASKA 60, (9) DUKE 54: Emily Cady put back a missed shot with 49 seconds left to put the host Cornhuskers (7-0) up by five and seal a win over the Blue Devils (5-2) in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

EASTERN NAZARENE 78, UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 67: Alex Jarman scored 21 points to pace the Lions (8-0) over the Nor’easters (1-5) in a Commonwealth Coast Conference opener at Biddeford.

(4) Duke 80, (2) Wisconsin 70: Tyus Jones scored 22 points, Rasheed Sulaimon added 14 and the Blue Devils (8-0) shot 65 percent to beat the host Badgers (7-1).

(7) VIRGINIA 76, (21) MARYLAND 65: Malcolm Brogdon scored 18 points, Justin Anderson added 16 and the Cavaliers (8-0) turned up the defense to hand the host Terrapins (7-1) their first loss.

(10) VILLANOVA 84, LA SALLE 70: Darrun Hilliard and Dylan Ennis each scored 15 points to lead the Wildcats (7-0) over the Explorers (4-3) at Philadelphia.

IOWA 60, (12) NORTH CAROLINA 55: Mike Gesell hit a driving layup through contact for the go-ahead three-point play with 1:16 left, helping the Hawkeyes (6-2) top the Tar Heels (5-2) in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge at Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

NOTRE DAME 79, (19) MICHIGAN STATE 78: Jerian Grant scored a career-high 27 points and Demetrius Jackson added a career-best 22 to help the Irish (7-1) knock off the visiting Spartans (5-3).
