Arizona made several rosters moves Friday that rippled down to the Pirates, the most notable being a trade with Pittsburgh for defenseman Philip Samuelsson, older brother of Pirates forward Henrik Samuelsson.

In exchange, the Coyotes sent Pittsburgh forward Rob Klinkhammer and a conditional 2016 fifth-round draft pick.

A former Pirate, Klinkhammer registered 14 goals and 30 assists in 53 games with the 2012-13 Pirates.

The 23-year-old Samuelsson has four assists and 20 penalty minutes in 22 games this season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, for whom he was a plus-17 in 64 games a year ago. He also played five games for the Penguins, who drafted him in the second round in 2009. He turned pro after two years at Boston College.

The Coyotes also called up forward Jordan Martinook (four goals, nine assists) and defenseman Andrew Campbell (three goals, five assists). They are expected to play Saturday night in Arizona against the Bruins.

To make room on the roster, the Coyotes sent defenseman David Schlemko to Portland and placed center Kyle Chipchura on waivers.
