A former resident of the town of Norway who recently moved to Lewiston was killed Sunday morning in a two-car crash on the Center Minot Hill Road in Minot.
Marcus Bennett, 19, lost control of his four-door Saab sedan around 9:45 a.m. and it slid into the path of a sport utility vehicle driven by Donna Wallace, 51, of Minot, said Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Bennett was transported to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston and died shortly after he arrived. Wallace and a passenger in her Honda Pilot were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
State Trooper Dan Hanson, who investigated the accident, said the road was icy at the time of the crash. The road had to be closed for about two hours.
