Re: “Protests grow after grand jury clears New York officer in chokehold death” (Dec. 3):

Martin Luther King Jr. may have been to the mountaintop, but in news of the last several months, young black men across our country are seeing only the pavement, close up, at the hands of the police, just before taking their last breath.

For the injustices served up in New York, Ferguson and beyond, outrage is the only word and protest the right action.
