Carol Lombard, Southern York County Coordinator for Toys for Tots, was on hand at the Nov. 12 meeting of the York County Republican Committee at the York County Court House in Alfred to accept donations of games, books, dolls, stuffed animals and many other most-wanted Christmas toys and is shown here with Nancy Ford, finance chair of the York County Republican Committee. More than 90 children will be the recipients of these gifts and others purchased with cash donations collected over a two-month period at the Republican election headquarters in Kennebunk. Toys for Tots will hold distribution days at St. Ignatius Gym in Sanford 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 19 and 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 20, and at 1 p.m., there will be a “last chance event” for those who missed their appointments in Biddeford, York and Sanford. “Elves” are needed on these days to help parents select just the right toys for their children.
