TARZANA, CALIFORNIA — Jeffrey Kenneth Bullingham Jr., 38, died unexpectedly on Nov. 27 in Tarzana, following a brief illness.

Bullingham was born in Brunswick on Sept. 18, 1976, the son of Jeffrey K. Bullingham Sr. and Janet I. (Small) Bullingham.

He was a 1994 graduate of Brunswick High School, and earned a political science degree from the University of Southern California in 1998. At USC, Bullingham was part of the school’s prestigious “Thematic Options” honors program, and served as an editor of the campus newspaper, The Daily Trojan.

He received his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2002, after which he practiced in both the San Diego and Los Angeles areas.

Bullingham was an avid sports fan, and although he spent half his life in California, he remained fiercely loyal to New England teams. He also loved spending time with his family, and strove to live each day with kindness, compassion and humor.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Kenneth Bullingham and Thelma Margo Bullingham.

He is survived by his father, Jeffrey, and wife, Kathy Plante, of North Port, Florida; mother, Janet, of Auburn; sister, Jamie, of Auburn; maternal grandparents, Harold and Ethel Small, of Bowdoin; uncles, David Small and wife, Paula, of Nashua, New Hampshire, Harold Small III, of Newmarket, New Hampshire, Mike LePard, of the United Kingdom, and Mike Sandlin and wife, Mary, of Palestine, Texas; aunts, Sandra Wescott, of Westbrook, and Donna Beck, of Lapine, Alabama; several cousins; and a large circle of extended family and friends here in the U.S. and the U.K.

Visiting hours were held Dec. 5 at Brackett Funeral Home, in Brunswick, followed by a funeral there on Dec. 6.
