BIDDEFORD — Joseph “Ray” Boislard, 92, of Biddeford, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014 at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford.

He was born Jan. 21, 1922 in Arthabaska, Quebec, Canada, a son of Emile and Andrea (Labbe) Boilard.

Joseph came here at the age of 7; he was educated locally and graduated from St. Louis High School.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He worked most of his life at Saco-Lowell/Maremont/Saco Defense shops as a machinist, retiring in 1991.

On Nov. 6, 1948, he married Muriel Guillereault at St. Joseph’s Church

in Biddeford.

Joseph was a member of the former St. Andre’s Parish, now Parish of the Good Shepherd.

He enjoyed fishing, ice fishing and his camp. He loved spending time with his family and his cats.

He was preceded in death by: a sister, Laurette Lehouillier; and a brother, Gerard Boislard.

Surviving are: his wife of 66 years, Muriel Boislard; a daughter, Constance Lavallee and her husband John; two sons, Donald Boislard and Norman Boislard and his wife Susan; one sister, Therese Dussault, all of Biddeford; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be 8-10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford. A funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford. To share condolences online, visit www.hopememorial.com.
