South Portland police on Saturday arrested a Massachusetts man wanted on warrants related to two armed bank robberies this month in Massachusetts.
Police arrested Michael Vangpa, 25, of Lowell, who was wanted for the Dec. 13 robbery of a Bank of America branch and a Dec. 14 robbery of a TD Bank branch. Both banks are in Lowell.
Vangpa was found in possession of cash and a small amount of marijuana when he was arrested at 5:30 p.m. on Landry Circle in South Portland, police said. He was transported to the Cumberland County Jail and is expected to extradited to Massachusetts.
