Greg Dorr will present “The Portuguese Camino Real,” a reprise of his popular slide talk with contributions from other travelers of the Camino, at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Camden Public Library, 55 Main St.

Library hosts children’s party

The Wells Public Library will host a holiday express party at 2 p.m. Monday at 1434 Post Road. Children of all ages and their families are invited to come and drink hot chocolate, eat cookies, make crafts and read Chris Van Allsburg’s classic story “The Polar Express.” Children are encouraged to come in their pajamas for this free event. Computing classes offered

The Portland Public Library will offer basic computer classes in January and February at 5 Monument Square. The sessions will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Jan. 7 and 21 and Feb. 4 and 18. This class is designed for computer novices. Participants will learn the parts of a computer, how to operate the mouse and keyboard, and gain confidence by practicing basic computer skills. Participants must register in advance. For more details, call 871-1700, ext. 708, or stop by the public computing desk at the main library to get on the roster.

Celebrate winter in poems

The Portland Public Library invites poetry lovers to attend “Poetry Aloud: Winter Poem Spectacular” from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Rines Auditorium at 5 Monument Square.

Bring a poem you love by a published poet to read aloud.

Refreshments will be served.
