SANFORD — The city is looking for a few residents with experience in money matters to serve on the budget board. There are four openings. Those filling the positions serve a one-year term but may reapply to serve the following year.
The deadline for applicants to submit the required resume and letter of interest and fill out an application and have it into the city manager’s office is 4 p.m. Jan. 9.
The city council, which makes the selection, is looking for applicants that have experience in budget development and administration, purchasing experience, contracting for services, employment costing and labor markets, maintenance of capital assets, familiarity with school or municipal operations, and more, they’re looking for candidates with as many of those skills as possible.
