Congratulations and thank you to Sens. Angus King and Susan Collins for voting as members of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence to publicly release the torture report.
Much as it pains us to discuss these issues, the public can judge whether it approves of the government’s actions, actions done in our name, only if we are told of them. Disclosing our past actions and debating them openly makes us a stronger society and a stronger democracy.
Sens. King and Collins have done a great service in voting to make the report public.
