SACO — Phyllis Anne Lariviere, 79, passed away on Dec. 17, 2014 at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford.

Phyllis was born in Dover, New Hampshire on March 16, 1935, the daughter of Herbert and Olive Littlefield.

She attended Sawyer School and graduated from Dover High School in 1953.

Phyllis went to work at F. W. Woolworth Company until 1961. Phyllis was a successful Avon sales representative for many years, obtaining membership in Avon’s President’s Club.

On May 21, 1961, she married Raymond Lariviere at St. John’s United Methodist Church.

Phyllis and Ray moved to Saco, where they raised their two sons, Robert and Stephen.

Phyllis was a member of the Cornerstone United Methodist Church until 1974, transferring to the Old Orchard Beach United Methodist Church. She served as a Sunday School teacher, sang in the choir, served as a lay leader since 1996 and treasurer since 1998. She became a lay speaker and qualified to perform worship services. Phyllis served as the treasurer for the Old Orchard Beach Food Pantry and Clothes Closet for five years. Phyllis was a member of the Women’s Educational and Industrial Union and a former member of the Camp Ellis Beach Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

Phyllis was a crossword aficionado. She loved animals, especially her cats, Mitzi and Carly, which she adored.

She was preceded in death by: her husband of 35 years, Raymond, in 1996; her brother, Allen, in 2005; daughter-in-law, Diane Lariviere; her brother-in-law, Clayton Campell; and nephew, David Campbell.

She is survived by: two sons, Robert of Biddeford and Stephen and his wife Cristy of Crestwood, Kentucky; two stepdaughters, Marie and her husband Richard Brophy of Dennis, Massachusetts and Debbie and her husband Rick Wehrhan of Sanbornville, New Hampshire; a sister, Cathleen Campbell of Milton, Florida; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 31 at 11 a.m. at the Old Orchard Beach United Methodist Church, 6 Fountain Ave., Old Orchard Beach, with Pastor Michael Grey officiating. Burial was at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are with Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, 365 Main St., Saco.
