BRUNSWICK — Shannon Brady had 20 points and eight rebounds, and Bowdoin College extended its winning streak to six with a 63-45 victory over MIT in the title game of its Coastal Maine Classic women’s basketball tournament.

Sara Binkhorst added 11 points, six rebounds and six assists, and Marle Curle scored 15 points for the Polar Bears (9-2), who scored the game’s first five points and never trailed, moving to a 29-17 lead at halftime.

BATES 80, CLARK 57: Molly Brown scored 27 points, and the Bobcats (7-4) cruised past the Cougars (3-6) in the consolation game of the Coastal Maine Classic in Brunswick.

OCCIDENTAL 66, ST. JOSEPH’S 64: Haley Graham hit a tying 3-pointer with 1:54 left in overtime and Tiffany Kho added two free throws with 43 seconds remaining to give Occidental (2-7) the edge at Los Angeles.

Morgan Cahill had 22 points and 14 rebounds for the Monks (7-3), and hit a tying layup with 19 seconds left in regulation.

(2) CONNECTICUT 89, EAST CAROLINA 38: Breanna Stewart scored 26 points to lead the Huskies (11-1, 2-0 American Athletic Conference) in a rout at East Carolina.

(5) TEXAS A&M 75, NORTH TEXAS 38: Courtney Walker scored 12 points and Texas A&M (12-2) rolled at home.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

OCCIDENTAL 50, ST. JOSEPH’S 48: Juwan Rice’s block set up Andrew Johnson for a buzzer-beating layup, and the Tigers (4-3) used a furious second-half rally to defeat the Monks (4-4) at Los Angeles.

St. Joseph’s led 32-13 with 13:48 remaining, but Occidental closed on a 14-2 run.

Quinn Richardson-Newton led the Monks with 12 points.

BABSON 72, COLBY 65: Joey Flannery scored 28 points, and the Beavers (9-1) used a 21-5 second-half run to rally past the Mules (6-4) at Babson Park, Massachusetts.

Luke Westman had 18 points and five assists for Colby. Chris Hudnut added 17 points and Ryan Jann 15.

BENTLEY 84, FRANKLIN PIERCE 68: South Portland’s Keegan Hyland scored 21 points to help the Falcons (7-5) beat Franklin Pierce (7-4) at Waltham, Massachusetts.

Saco’s Andrew Shaw added 16 points, Rockport’s Tyler McFarland had 14, and Alex Furness of Wells had seven points, seven rebounds and eight assists.

(2) DUKE 84, WOFFORD 55: Freshman center Jahlil Okafor scored 24 points and the Blue Devils (12-0) rolled at Durham, North Carolina.

(4) WISCONSIN 89, PENN STATE 72: Frank Kaminsky had 18 points and 14 rebounds, Nigel Hayes scored 21 points and the host Badgers (13-1) shot a blistering 63 percent in a victory over Penn State (12-2).

(6) VILLANOVA 67, BUTLER 55: Ryan Arcidiacono scored 15 points and JayVaughn Pinkston had 13 to help host Villanova (13-0, 1- Big East) beat Butler (10-4, 0-1) and match the best start in program history.

(9) IOWA STATE 83, MVSU 33: Naz Long made seven 3-pointers and had 24 points as Iowa State cruised at home.

SETON HALL 78, (15) ST. JOHN’S 67: Sterling Gibbs had 25 points and eight assists to lead Seton Hall (11-2) over St. John’s (11-2) in a Big East opener at Newark, New Jersey.

(16) WICHITA STATE 66, DRAKE 58: Ron Baker scored 23 points, including 13 straight down the stretch, and the Shockers (11-2) opened MVC play with a hard-fought win over Drake (3-10) at Des Moines, Iowa.

(18) OKLAHOMA 61, GEORGE MASON 43: Buddy Hield scored all but two of his 17 points in the first half, and Oklahoma (9-3) shut down George Mason (5-7) at home.
