Route 113 in Standish was expected to be closed for about three hours Sunday night after a car went off the road and struck a utility pole, snapping it in half and sending live electrical wires into the roadway.

A police dispatcher said the accident took place around 9:15 p.m. when a car with two people inside slid off the ice-covered roadway.

One person was transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. A crew from Central Maine Power Co. was called in to repair the damage.
