I was pleasantly surprised to read James Schwartz’s review of Street and Co. that appeared Dec. 14 (“Dine Out Maine: Street and Co. in Portland”).
It was a very clear and perceptive review of the restaurant. It reminded me of articles I have read by Mark Bittman in The New York Times. Mr. Schwartz was not pretentious and did not try to show off in his review.
I thought he was correct in his opinion about Street and Co. This restaurant, which I have frequented a number of times over the years, has lost its edge. Perhaps this review will spark a desire to restore the restaurant to its former brilliance.
I look forward to reading future reviews by Mr. Schwartz.
