A tractor-trailer crashed Sunday night on Interstate 95 in Augusta, forcing police to shut down the northbound travel lanes.
The accident took place around 10 p.m. near the Bond Brook overpass, said Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine State Police. Diesel fuel was leaking from the truck.
McCausland said northbound traffic would be diverted to the Western Avenue exit and then on to Leighton Road to avoid the crash site. He said it likely would be several hours before the truck could be removed.
No injuries were reported.
