BIDDEFORD— Edna M. Kenney, 92, of May Street died at the South Ridge Rehab on Friday, Jan. 2.

Edna was born Feb. 14, 1922 in South Berwick. She was the daughter of Edwin and Ethel (Wilkinson) Young.

Edna graduated from Berwick Academy and Becker College, Worcester, Massachusetts. After graduation, Edna remained in Worcester and worked for an insurance company. She later worked for Sylvania in Dover, New Hampshire.

In her younger years, Edna enjoyed maintaining a large vegetable garden and canning the yield from the harvest. She was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting, (a skill she learned from one of her teachers at Berwick Academy). She attended the Emery’s Bridge Church and was the treasurer for many years.

She is survived by: her sister, Myrtle Young of Dover, New Hampshire; a son, Darrell Kenney of Rochester, New Hampshire; daughters Maureen Hayward of York, Cindy Bolduc of Clinton; and three grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by: her husband, Thomas Kenney; and her sister, Elizabeth Brooks.

There are no services at this time. A memorial service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in South Berwick in the summer.

Arrangements are under the direction of the McIntire McCooey Funeral Home.
