BOSTON (AP) — Gov.-elect Charlie Baker says traffic congestion in Charlestown is a big concern of his as it relates to a planned casino in neighboring Everett.
Baker said Tuesday he was not familiar with the details of a lawsuit filed against state gambling regulators by the city of Boston that could halt development of the $1.6 billion Wynn Resorts project. But he said Sullivan Square was of concern because “it’s a fairly small, very complex intersection” in which an enormous amount of volume passes.
The suit argues Charlestown residents should have a vote on the casino because of the potential impact on traffic.
The Massachusetts Gaming Commission said the issues raised by Boston had already been addressed
