In response to “Letter to the editor: Parents have a right to refuse vaccines” (Jan. 7) by Kelly Callahan:

Have you ever walked through a cemetery with pre-1950s graves? If you have, you have seen the high percentage of people who never made it past childhood. Now walk through the contemporary section: almost no graves of children. What changed? Vaccines, of course.

Ms. Callahan suggests we educate ourselves. Any rational person who has “educated” themselves about homeopathy knows it is the very definition of quackery. It denies all we know of bacteria, viruses, chemistry and even physics. There are no legitimate studies that demonstrate its validity, as Ms. Callahan suggests.

A lot of money has been made selling bottles of water to cure what ails ya!

To advocate homeopathy as a public health tool is willfully ignorant and dangerous.
