BIDDEFORD — Rita A. Beaulieu, 92, of Biddeford, died Saturday, Jan. 10, at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford.

She was born Aug. 31, 1922, in Biddeford, a daughter of Alphonse and Medora (Piette) Nolette, and was educated locally at the former St. Andre’s School.

On Feb. 23, 1946, she married Horace Beaulieu at St. Andre’s Church.

As a young woman, she had been employed at the Pepperell Mills. As her family grew, she left her employment to raise her four children. She later returned to work at York Heel and then Nike Corp.

She and her husband had been longtime members of the Fremont Club and also the American Legion. Rita had been an avid Bingo player and was known at Biddeford Estates as the “Bingo Queen,” but her greatest pleasure was in spending time wit her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Horace Beaulieu on Aug. 4, 2009; and her four sisters, Germaine Perry, Jeannette Perry, Aline Metayer and Juliette Ayotte.

She is survived by: two sons, Richard N. Beaulieu and his wife Gloria of Old Orchard Beach, and Marc D. Beaulieu and his wife Charlene of Biddeford; two daughters, Joanne Daigneault and her husband Richard of Biddeford, Priscille Mullen and her husband John of Scarborough; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews

Visiting hours will be 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 14 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm Street, Biddeford. A Memorial Service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford.
