WISCASSET

Two men were arrested on Monday night in connection with a police pursuit in December.

Glenn Lewis, 58, had been in a highspeed pursuit with Wiscasset police on Dec. 16, which was terminated after he was identified, according to Chief Troy Cline. An arrest warrant for Lewis was subsequently obtained by Cline.

On Monday, Lincoln County sheriff ’s deputies received information on Lewis’ location, and when Deputy Jared Mitkus went to a Jefferson residence to check on Lewis, they made contact with Jeffrey King, 50, who denied that Lewis was at the residence, according to Cline.

Mitkus advised King that police were aware that Lewis was at the residence and King eventually admitted that Lewis was there, Cline said. Lewis had been hiding upstairs, and several firearms were inside the residence.

Both men were arrested, with Lewis facing charges of eluding a police officer, criminal speeding and improper license plates from the December chase, while King was charged with hindering apprehension and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

Both were taken to Two Bridges Regional Jail.
