PARIS — The police chief of the Maine town of Paris is due in court this week to be arraigned on a drunken driving charge.

Police charged Michael Madden of Harrison with operating under the influence after he was pulled over in Naples in November. Madden is due in Bridgton District Court for arraignment on Tuesday.

Madden was driving his personal vehicle and did not have any passengers. Police said at the time that he was cooperative during the stop. He declined to comment when reached by a reporter at the Paris Police Department, where he remains on duty as chief.
