DENVER — Nathan MacKinnon scored the only goal of the shootout to give the Colorado Avalanche a come-from-behind 3-2 win over the Boston Bruins on Wednesday night.

Reilly Smith, David Pastrnak and Patrice Bergeron could not score in the shootout for the Bruins, who have won six of eight entering the All-Star break.

Ryan O’Reilly tied the game for Colorado with 1:45 left in the third, backhanding a shot past goalie Tuukka Rask from in front off a scramble.

Brad Marchand’s short-handed goal 4:47 into the third period had given the Bruins a 2-1 lead.

Jarome Iginla, who played for the Bruins last year and scored 30 goals before leaving as a free agent, gave Colorado a 1-0 lead with one second left in the first period. It was his 14th goal.

Boston tied it at 6:18 of the second on a goal by Torey Krug.

Rask made 34 saves for the Bruins; Semyon Varlamov had 22 for the Avs.
