Old Orchard Beach police arrested an Arundel man Wednesday on charges of aggravated cultivating marijuana after police say an overloaded extension cord used in the growing operation started a fire.

Old Orchard firefighters and police responded to a fire at 36 Atlantic Ave. on Jan. 6 and found 102 marijuana plants growing inside the home. The home is located within a drug-free safe zone.

Police obtained a warrant and on Wednesday charged Joshua Poissant, 27, with felony marijuana cultivation. He is free on $2,500 bail pending a court appearance.
