The driver of a Honda Accord suffered serious injuries after being struck by a logging truck in Standish Friday afternoon.

According to Lt. Donald Foss of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred on Route 25 when a fully loaded logging truck heading westbound on Route 25 struck the passenger side of a 2009 Honda Accord that had just entered Route 25 after being stopped at the Saco Road intersection.

The operator of the Honda, Helen Dobosz, 72, of Seekonk, Mass., had to be extricated from the vehicle. She was transported to Maine Medical Center for serious injuries. Her vehicle was completely destroyed.

The driver of the logging truck, Brian Noke, 29, of Limington, and the truck’s occupants, Richard Noke, 50, and Jason Jockett, 31, both of Limington, were not injured. Route 25 was closed down for several hours following the crash.

The sheriff’s office is investigating the crash and is doing an accident reconstruction, Foss said. The State Police Commercial Motor Vehicle unit is assisting in the investigation. The crash remains under investigation, but speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash.
