Cheverus senior Zordan Holman beams after receiving the Frank J. Gaziano Memorial Defensive Lineman award Saturday in Augusta. Holman, an imposing and athletic defensive end, also received a leather jacket and a $5,000 scholarship in addition to the trophy. Holman, the 2014 Eastern A Defensive End and Lineman of the Year, is the first Stag to be so honored.
“When I walked into the event, it felt like the Heisman Trophy almost,” Holman said. “It was very well-organized and run. Watching the video about Frank J. Gaziano and what he meant to his family and how he was viewed, that was breathtaking. I am happy to be here and to win the award. I feel very privileged and honored.”
