PORTLAND

Hard-core Patriots fans can watch the big game outside

And now for something completely different. Watch the Super Bowl outside – yes, outside – at The Thirsty Pig, 37 Exchange St., on Sunday at 6 p.m.

Bring your Patriots blankets, sock warmers and other winter gear to watch an outdoor screening of the game, but don’t worry about getting cold. The Pig will have plenty of deck heaters on hand to keep you from turning into a Patriots popsicle. There will be lots of beer specials, and guest chefs will compete in a chili cook-off.

This might be a good time to gather some fully inflated footballs, bring them to the party and see what happens.

For more information, call 773-2469.

Catch the Brew Bus for tacos, beer and more

Twenty bucks gets you all-you-can-eat tacos, fried pickles, tapatio wings, churros, chili and more at the Super Bowl party being thrown by Hella Good Tacos, 500 Washington Ave., and Bissell Bros. Brewing Co.

The game will be showing on a big screen, and they’ll be serving $5 pours of Bissell’s Substance, Lux and Swish ales.

Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Pay at the door, or buy a ticket in advance at eventbrite.com (search for Hella Good Tacos).

The Maine Brew Bus will provide free Congress Street shuttle service to and from the event. Starting at 4:30 and 5:30 p.m., wait at any Metro bus stop on the even side of Congress Street between Salvage BBQ & Smokehouse (919 Congress St.) and Mama’s Crowbar (189 Congress St.) Wave to the green bus to signal it to stop. Return rides will be available immediately after the game.
