Nick Mazurek, Oceanside basketball: Mazurek scored a career-high 33 points to lead Oceanside to an 83-64 win over Camden Hills in an Eastern Class B basketball game to improve its record to 10-5. Mazurek, a junior, is averaging 15 points in his second season as a starter.


Tucker Corbett, York track: In a Western Maine Conference meet Jan. 23 at USM, Corbett won the 400 by five seconds in 51.72, more than a second faster than the Class B state winning time last year (53:08). Corbett also took the 200 in 23.89 at the meet.

Jack Lesure, Lake Region basketball: Lesure scored 16 points while adding 10 rebounds and six assists as the Lakers improved to 9-4 with a 56-36 win over Greely in a key Western Maine Conference game. He scored 23 points in a 76-46 win over Freeport on Wednesday.

Milani Hicks, Scarborough basketball: Hicks scored a game-high 36 points but the Red Storm fell to Cheverus in overtime, 70-67.


Maddie Hasson, South Portland basketball: The junior guard scored 38 points in a 76-60 win over Windham with 13 2-point baskets and 12 free throws. She then added 22 points Wednesday in a 63-58 overtime setback to Gorham.


Kate Hall, Lake Region track: Hall improved her New England leading time in the 200-meter dash to 25.32 as she won the event by more than 2 seconds.

Gabrielle Wajer, Lincoln Academy basketball: In a key 47-45 victory against Oceanside that left both teams with 10-4 records, Wajer scored 18 points with five rebounds, five assists and three steals. She added 10 points in a win against Belfast.

Marina Casey, Traip Academy basketball: Casey, a sophomore forward, scored 24 points with 13 rebounds as the Rangers upset Old Orchard Beach, 55-51.
