PLYMOUTH, N.H. — A first-period goal by Gabby Crugnale and 31 saves out of Sydney Helmbrecht guided the University of New England to a 1-1 overtime draw with Plymouth State University in ECAC East women’s ice hockey action Saturday afternoon at Hanaway Rink.

The Panthers (3-15-2, 3-8-1 ECAC East) received a power-play score from Olivia Leon early in the second frame to pull even with UNE (4-11-4, 1-8-2 ECAC East), and the teams played the remaining 40:30 to no result.

Alyssa Altschuler nearly matched Helmbrecht in the save column, posting 30 stops in the PSU net.

QUINCY, Mass. — Kelly Coleman scored a game-high 22 points and the University of New England used a 19-2 run early in the second period to pull away to a 77-55 Commonwealth Coast Conference women’s basketball victory over Eastern Nazarene College on Saturday afternoon at the Lahue PE Center.

UNE (15-4, 11-1 CCC) has defeated the Lions (6-11, 5-6 CCC) each of the last 14 times the teams have met.

Men’s Basketball

EASTERN NAZARENE 85, UNE 70

QUINCY, Mass. — Eastern Nazarene College utilized second-half runs of 14-4 and 13-0 to surge out of a one-point deficit to an 85-70 victory over the University of New England in Commonwealth Coast Conference men’s basketball action on Saturday at the Lahue PE Center.

The Lions (16-2, 9-2 CCC) got 21 points, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals from Jaylen Owens.

Devin Thompson led the Nor’easters (5-14, 3-9 CCC) with 15 points.
