No one was seriously injured in a three-car pileup Tuesday afternoon on Route 202 in Gray that police blamed on driver inattention.

Capt. Donald Goulet of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said the road, also known as the West Gray Road, was shut down for about an hour after the accident, which took place around 1:45 p.m.

Goulet said Ryler Vayo, 20, of Gray was westbound on Route 202 when his Toyota Corolla crossed the centerline and struck a car operated by Lorraine Hodges, 81. Hodges suffered a broken foot and was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland.

Carol Knotos, 69, of Windham was not seriously injured when Vayo’s car then spun around, hit guardrails, and struck her Chrysler PT Cruiser.
