A man suffered a head injury Saturday morning in a skiing collision at Sunday River in Newry and was flown by a medical helicopter to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, according to the ski resort.

The accident took place on the 3D trail about 9 a.m., said Sarah Devlin, a spokeswoman for Sunday River. She said the man is between the ages of 18 and 24, and that his family has been notified.

She said late Saturday afternoon the resort did not yet have an accident report, and she had no details about the other person involved in the collision.
