After reading the Jan. 29 article “Benefactor of Maine Community College System questions governor,” I am prompted to write about the audacity of our governor in threatening someone into resigning a position with the community college system.
It is appalling that the governor’s threats to “punish the system,” as system President John Fitzsimmons feared, should be responsible for a respected leader like Fitzsimmons resigning his position.
Efforts to rise up against bullying are all over the news – this is just another example of the bully mentality in the Blaine House.
What is the matter with the majority of Maine voters? Apparently they don’t mind a bully after all. Not much to look forward to in the next four years of this leadership. But I already knew that 3½ years ago!
