BOSTON — Matt Duquette scored 16 points to lead Suffolk to a 66-55 win over St. Joseph’s in a men’s basketball game on Thursday night.

Steve Simonds scored 19 points with 10 rebounds for the Monks (11-10, 9-6 GNAC), who fell behind 39-24 after the Rams (8-13, 5-9) closed the first half with an 8-minute, 26-6 run.

Zach Blodgett added 10 points with 10 rebounds for the Monks.

(3) GONZAGA 80, LOYOLA MARYMOUNT 51: Kyle Wiltjer scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Gonzaga won easily at Spokane, Washington.

Przemek Karnowski and Byron Wesley each scored 11 points for Gonzaga (25-1, 13-0 West Coast Conference), which has won 18 straight games.

(11) UTAH 75, STANFORD 59: Delon Wright scored 15 points as the Utes (19-4, 9-2 Pac-12) won their 16th in a row at home.

Anthony Brown led Stanford (16-8, 7-5) with 15 points.

KANSAS: Assistant coach Jerrance Howard was suspended for two weeks Thursday after Coach Bill Self learned that his former player and one of the nation’s top recruiters was arrested last summer in his Illinois hometown for marijuana possession.

WOMEN’s BASKETBALL

(1) SOUTH CAROLINA 86, LSU 62: A’ja Wilson scored a career-high 26 points and top-ranked South Carolina rode a 28-6 first-half run to rout the Tigers at Columbia, South Carolina.

Twelve steals and 18 fast-break points from freshman-of-the-year candidate Wilson broke open a close game for the Gamecocks (23-1, 11-0 Southeastern Conference).

The Gamecocks took out their frustrations from a 25-point loss to Connecticut on LSU by shooting 52.5 percent in the rout.

(6) TENNESSEE 69, MISSISSIPPI 49: Isabelle Harrison had 21 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Lady Vols (21-3, 11-0 SEC) to a win at Oxford, Mississippi.

(17) NORTH CAROLINA 71, (7) FLORIDA STATE 63: Allisha Gray scored 13 of her 22 points in the final six minutes to lead the Tar Heels to a comeback win at home.

Gray added 14 rebounds for North Carolina (20-5, 7-4 Atlantic Coast Conference) and took over in the final minutes.

The loss snapped a nine-game winning streak for the Seminoles (22-3, 9-2).

(9) LOUISVILLE 81, CLEMSON 49: Shawnta Dyer had a season-high 20 points and Miraya Moore added 15 as Louisville (21-3, 9-2 ACC) cruised at Clemson, South Carolina.

(10) KENTUCKY 92, (13) MISSISSIPPI STATE 90: Makayla Epps capped a career night with a putback basket as time expired in the second overtime to give the Wildcats (19-5, 8-3 SEC) a wild victory over at the Bulldogs (23-4, 9-4) at Lexington, Kentucky.

(11) DUKE 71, VIRGINIA 45: Rebecca Greenwell scored 22 points and set a school freshman record for 3-pointers in a season (53), Azura Stevens had a double-double with a career-high 14 rebounds and visiting Duke (19-6, 10-2 ACC) cruised to its 22nd straight win over the Cavaliers.

MIAMI 85, (23) SYRACUSE 71: Suriya McGuire was 7 of 11 from the floor with two 3-pointers as visiting Miami (17-7, 7-4 ACC) upset Syracuse (17-8, 7-5).

FLORIDA 51, (24) GEORGIA 48: Cassie Peoples hit two 3-pointers in the final four minutes as Florida won at Athens, Georgia for the first time since 2004.
