Current and former Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield members in Maine dating back to 2004 now are eligible for two years of free identity repair assistance and credit monitoring services, the company said Friday afternoon.

Affected members can start accessing the services prior to receiving a mailed notification from Anthem, which will be sent in the coming weeks, the company said in a news release. Those affected may access the services at any time during the 24-month coverage period.

The free identity protection services provided by Anthem include identity theft repair assistance, credit monitoring and child identity protection.

For members who have been affected by the cyberattack that targeted roughly 80 million customers’ sensitive personal information including Social Security numbers, the services are automatically available and do not require enrollment, Anthem said. To learn how to access the services, visit anthemfacts.com or call 877-263-7995. A Spanish version of the website is at antheminforma.com.
