The power is out in the Pillsbury Shores section of Pine Point in Scarborough.

A dump truck that was part of the town’s snow removal effort accidentally pulled down wires at King Street and Avenue Five around 2:30 Friday morning.

Contractors have been dumping snow at the Hurd Park municipal parking lot.

A warming shelter has been established at the fire department’s Engine 4 station on King Street.

The pole should be replaced this morning according to Scarborough Fire Chief Mike Thurlow.

Kennebunk officials had to shut down Route 1 twice in the past two weeks for a similar mishap that shut down power in the town in the area of York Street.
