LEWISTON —Brunswick scored one goal in each period and held on late in a 3-2 boys high school hockey win over Cony/Monmouth on Tuesday at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee.

Tyler Sullivan opened the scoring at 8:51 of the first period, with Jared Parent picking up an assist. Parent doubled the lead at 12:44 of the third period (assists to Jacob Towle and Sullivan), and Jacob McGowan’s tally at 5:11 of the third (Parent) gave the Dragons a 3-0 edge.

Cony/Monmouth rallied late, with Dakota Benson and Avery Pomerleau scoring

4:35 apart to close to 3-2. The Rams called a timeout and pulled goaltender Dalton Bowie (31 saves), but the Dragons, behind goaltender Devin Allard’s 20 saves, held off the rally.

“This was a big win for us and put us back into fifth place in the Heal Points Standings,” said Brunswick coach Bill Bodwell after his team finished the regular season with an 11-7 record.

The Eastern A quarterfinals are set to begin next Tuesday, with the Dragons likely on the road.
