NORTH HAVERHILL, N.H. — The lawyer for a former Fortune 500 executive charged with killing a pregnant woman and her fiance during a botched suicide attempt in New Hampshire says his client will plead guilty to negligent homicide.
Robert Dellinger is due back in court Thursday morning.
The 54-year-old Sunapee man was initially charged with manslaughter after the December 2013 crash that killed 24-year-old Amanda Murphy and 29-year-old Jason Timmons of Wilder, Vermont. The charge was later elevated to second-degree murder.
Murphy was eight months pregnant.
Defense lawyer Peter Decato said Wednesday that Dellinger will also plead guilty to second-degree assault in the death of the fetus.
If the plea is accepted, Dellinger faces up to seven years in prison on each of the negligent homicide counts.
